We have been working in the environmental field for almost 20 years and during this time have seen a slow but steady increase in the awareness of individuals to the state of our global environment and in particular, the threat of climate change.
However, since late 2006 when Al Gore released his documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth' and with the prolonged drought being experienced in many parts of Australia, we have seen a remarkable increase in the concern being shown by the Australian community. The Useful Links page includes links to the NASA and CSIRO Web sites, which provide technical information on these critical topics - we commend these to you.
We believe that Australian consumers are now becoming more aware of the products that they buy and will be putting greater pressure on Australian businesses to source materials and products from more sustainable sources. Questions such as these will be more common in the future:
Did the timber in that table come from sustainably managed plantation forests?
Is that food organic?
Are those plastics biodegradable?
Can you guarantee that no child labour was used in production?
GreenChip wishes to help its clients to better appreciate these and other sustainability issues and trends so that we can work together to make a positive contribution to the planet.
