GreenChip has been assisting businesses respond to the requirements of the Australian Packaging Covenant (formerly the National Packaging Covenant) since 2000 including ALDI Stores, John Danks & Son, Telstra, Motorola, CSL and National Foods.

The range of NPC services provided by GreenChip include:

  • Action Plan preparation and project management
  • Annual Report preparation
  • IDAS reports
  • Environmental Packaging Guidelines (ECoPP and SPG compliant)
  • Staff training

  • Development of internal procedures and databases.
GreenChip has also developed a Packaging Recycling Assessment Tool (PRAT) and is able to complete assessments for brand owners and packaging manufacturers to confirm whether packaging can be classified as 'recyclable'.  The PRAT considers the size, shape, materials, inks and glues in determining either a classification or the need for a MRF trial (Materials Recovery Facility) or laboratory trial to confirm the classification.
